Petr Cech passes a medical examinations at Arsenal
According to the BBC, Petr Cech will undergo a medical examination today and will officially move into the ranks of Arsenal for 11 million pounds. This will be the first transfer of Arsene Wenger this summer. The Czech guard will sign a contract for three years and will receive a salary of 100,000 pounds per week.
Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois replaces Cech and took the starting position at the door of Londoners leaving the veteran looking for a new challenge.
Cech started in 16 games last season and was number one in Chelsea for 11 years. During this time he has played more than 300 matches, winning four league titles, four FA cups, three League Cups, one Champions League and one Europa League Cup. He joined the team from the French Rennes in 2004.
His agent admitted that Chelsea gives a green light to his client to negotiate with other teams against the wishes of Mourinho to keep him in their ranks.
"The truth is that I don`t want him to go to another English team," were the words of Jose. "But I repeat, I am only the manager and he has done so much for the club adviced by fixed-games and deserves to decide his future, so if the opinion of the board is different from mine, I will accept it."
Arsenal doesn`t have a solid goalkeeper for almost 10 years since Jens Lehmann and the transfer of Cech is a great news for Arsene Wenger.
