Ivan Klasnic`s battle against Vader`s doctors continues
Former Croatian national Ivan Klasic continues the battle with two doctors, which has been running for more than 10 years. The former striker sued the medics because of their kidney problems in Werder (Bremen). In 2007, Klasnik received kidney failure and underwent a transplant. The footballer revealed he had started to feel pain for five years, but doctors Gyotz Dimanski and Manju Gua did not correctly diagnose his problems. They started dabbing it with Voltaren, which turned out to be contraindicated. Eventually, Klasnich had to undergo surgery.
Already in 2007, the Croat has filed a lawsuit against the doctors in question. Only ten years later, on March 31, 2017, the Bremen District Court recognized doctors guilty and ordered them to pay the 100, 000-euro damages. However, there followed an appeal and the case continued at a higher instance. There, magistrates proposed to both sides to make an out-of-court agreement for 3 million euros in compensatio n, but the doctors did not accept it. Thus, the trial is re-launched today, with the court requesting a new medical report, and possibly no new case before the autumn of 2019.
Meanwhile, Klasnic already underwent three kidney transplants and was forced to stop his career.
