Djokovic defended the trophy in Indian Wells
Novak Djokovic is the new-old champion of the tournament in Indian Wells. At the end of the race Nole won with 6: 3, 6: 7 (5), 6: 2 over Roger Federer. The match between both was a repeat of last year`s final, when the winner went out again the world No1. Djokovic and Federer offered a battle of exceptional level, in which unfortunately had to be only one winner, and he is Djokovic.
It was the 38th match between both of them, as the Serbian won the 18th victory.
The first set was decided by a breakthrough. Djokovic place it for a lead of 4: 2 games, and then the Serbian had no problems to close the set.
In the second part Nole was also more concentrated and led with 4: 2 games again, but this time Federer managed to return the attack and score for 4: 4. Eventually they came to a tiebreak, in which Federer catch and by 6: 5 in his favour won the rally and tied the result according fixed game in the sets.
In the final third part Djokovic started hammering with breaking and lead with 2: 0. After the 12-minute third game, Federer broke back liability, which remained in the game for the delight of the majority of the audience, who tried to stop the emotions.
In the sixth game, the world No1 again reminded for him. Djokovic turned the game and reached the breakthrough leading with 4: 2, and then he managed to break totally his opponent and close the match, triumphing for the fourth time in Indian Wells.
During the new week we will see Nole in the Tournament in Miami, where he has to defend the title. Federer took a break before the season of clay courts in Europe.
