Murray killed all hopes to Australia
Andy Murray qualified for the semi-finals of the Australian Open. In an expected with great interest on the part of the home side match with the local hope Nick Kirios, placed No6 in the scheme Murray showed great tennis and deservedly won with 3:0 sets - 6:3, 7:6 (5), 6:3.
Throughout the game the Briton served well and allowed only one break at 4:2 in his favour in the final third set. This does not stop him to complete the game in 3 parts.
"It was a great match. It was a pleasure for me to be on "Rod Laver Arena"- the first words of Murray after the meeting. He also praised his young rival Kirios and give advice to the Australian public - "don`t put him under tremendous pressure."
Curiously, Grigor Dimitrov continues to be the only one who managed to take a set from Murray at the Australian Open. In contention for a place in the final, Murray will compete with Tomas Berdych. This will be the 11th clash between them, as the Czech lead with 6:4 wins.
For Andy Murray this is fifth time at the semi-finals of Australian Open.
