Porzingis was close to a transfer to Phoenix
The Latvian Kristaps Porzingis had been close to a transfer to Phoenix last summer, but eventually a deal was never reached. The 221-cm tall basketball player was in a strained relationship with New York`s president Phil Jackson back then, and according to ESPN, Porzingis was extremely optimistic about a possible crossing to the state of Arizona. The two sides negotiated a deal that was supposed to include Porzingis as well as No. 4 in last year`s Draft with which the Suns took Josh Jackson from Kansas University. Eventually, Jackson left the Nix presidency, and Porzingis recorded the strongest season in his career so far with 22. 7 points, 6. 6 rebounds, 2. 4 umbrellas and 1. 2 assists, but playing inonly 48 fights because he suffered a knee injury.
